આજના સમયમાં Passport માત્ર વિદેશ પ્રવાસ માટે જ નહીં, પરંતુ એક મહત્વપૂર્ણ ઓળખ પુરાવો તરીકે પણ કામ આવે છે. વિદેશમાં નોકરી, અભ્યાસ, બિઝનેસ, ટુર, ફેમિલી વિઝિટ અથવા ઇમર્જન્સી ટ્રાવેલ માટે Passport જરૂરી બની જાય છે. ઘણા લોકો Passport apply કરવાનું વિચારે છે, પણ કયા documents જોઈએ, fees કેટલી છે, online form કેવી રીતે ભરવું, appointment કેવી રીતે મળે અને police verification ક્યારે થાય — આવી બાબતોમાં confusion રહે છે. આ લેખમાં આપણે Passport Apply Online 2026 વિશે સરળ ગુજરાતી ભાષામાં સંપૂર્ણ માહિતી સમજીએ.
Passport શું છે?
Passport ભારત સરકારના Ministry of External Affairs દ્વારા આપવામાં આવતો official travel document છે. New Passport માટે કોણ Apply કરી શકે?
જે વ્યક્તિ પાસે હજુ સુધી passport નથી, તે Fresh Passport માટે apply કરી શકે છે. Applicant Indian citizen હોવો જોઈએ અને તેની પાસે required identity, date of birth અને present address proof હોવા જોઈએ. જો અગાઉ passport બનાવેલો હોય અને expire થઈ ગયો હોય, page ભરાઈ ગયા હોય, નામ/સરનામું બદલવું હોય અથવા details correction કરાવવી હોય તો Fresh નહીં પણ Re-issue Passport category પસંદ કરવી પડે.
Passport Apply માટે જરૂરી Documents
Fresh Passport માટે સામાન્ય રીતે નીચેના documents જરૂરી પડે છે. Actual document list applicantની age, address, marital status, minor/adult category અને case પ્રમાણે બદલાઈ શકે છે.
Proof of Date of Birth
Date of Birth proof માટે સામાન્ય રીતે birth certificate, school leaving certificate, Aadhaar card, PAN card અથવા official acceptable document ઉપયોગી થઈ શકે છે. Applicantએ formમાં જે DOB લખી હોય, તે document સાથે match થવી જોઈએ.
Present Address Proof
Passport applicationમાં present address ખૂબ મહત્વનું છે, કારણ કે police verification સામાન્ય રીતે present address પરથી થાય છે. Passport Fees 2026

Normal અને Tatkal Passport વચ્ચે Difference
Normal Passportમાં application process regular speedથી થાય છે. Appointment, document verification અને police verification પછી passport issue થાય છે. Tatkal Passport fast processing માટે હોય છે. Tatkaalમાં appointment અને processing faster હોઈ શકે છે, પરંતુ applicantને required documents originalમાં PSK/POPSK પર રજૂ કરવા પડે છે. Tatkal service દરેક applicant માટે automatic available હોય એવું જરૂરી નથી; eligibility અને final decision Passport Officer/authority પર આધારિત હોય છે.
Tatkal passportમાં સામાન્ય રીતે passport dispatch faster થાય છે, પરંતુ final status “Granted” થયા પછી જ passport print/dispatch process આગળ વધે છે. Police verification Tatkaalમાં ઘણી વાર post-verification basis પર થઈ શકે છે, એટલે passport issue થયા પછી police verification થઈ શકે છે. જોકે final verification mode applicantના case પ્રમાણે બદલાઈ શકે છે.
Passport Apply Online Process
Passport માટે apply કરવાની basic process આ રીતે છે:
Step 1: Passport Seva Portal પર Registration
સૌ પ્રથમ Passport Seva official portal પર જઈને new user registration કરવું પડે છે. Registration વખતે applicantનું name, date of birth, email/mobile અને login details carefully ભરવા.
Step 2: Login કરીને Application Form ભરો
Registration પછી login કરીને “Apply for Fresh Passport/Re-issue of Passport” option પસંદ કરવો. Fresh passport હોય તો Fresh select કરવું અને જો જૂનો passport હોય તો Re-issue select કરવું. Formમાં name, DOB, address, family details, employment details, identity details અને emergency contact જેવી માહિતી ભરવાની હોય છે.
Step 3: Details Carefully Check કરો
Form submit કરતાં પહેલાં name spelling, date of birth, address, parents/spouse details અને mobile/email ફરી check કરો. Passport formમાં નાની ભૂલ પણ આગળ correction અથવા delayનું કારણ બની શકે છે.
